In these days of high regulation, red tape and strict legal compliance many accountants have given up their audit qualification and consequently are no longer able to recommend the service.

We are authorised & regulated by the ACCA to conduct audits for businesses as diverse as limited companies, charities, solicitors and organisations such as Working Men’s Clubs.

The value added audit

Our audit philosophy seeks to drag the audit away from being viewed as a compliance task to one of adding real value to the organisation.  We view the audit as a privileged position where our clients’ organisation is opened up to us, warts and all, for inspection.  This allows us to question, probe, enquire and document every area of the clients business. 

For that knowledge not to be used to add value is criminal.

By building the relationships, gaining a sound understanding of your organisation (including its ethos, its aims and its ambitions) we are able to conduct an audit that satisfies all the requirements of probity and sound financial governance but also provides you with a real sense of how your organisation is performing.

This is perhaps best illustrated with an example.

Traditional audits end with three documents;

1. The letter of representation
2. The audit report
3. The report to management. 

Our audits end with;

1. A presentation to the Board of Shareholders or Trustees
2. A presentation to the key members of the organisation and an action plan of improvement measures born out of the audit to strengthen the organisation.

Our audit files are reviewed by our tax & VAT partner to ensure that any compliance issues or recommendations that are outside the scope of an audit are also captured.

Our audit work is quoted for on a case by case basis and is subject to the same fee commitment as our accountancy offers.
